John Adams Joins Stuart Silk Architects

Seattle, WA --  John Adams, an experienced commercial designer with both New York and Seattle architecture firms, has joined Stuart Silk Architects to lead a new department called Stuart Silk Architects Commercial Studio.

Adams’ commercial experience has included projects for the Economic Development Corporation of New York, Washington Mutual Bank, and Deutsch Inc. While at New York’s Fredric Schwartz Architects, he was associate-in-charge for the new Deutsch advertising office in Los Angeles -- winner of the International Interior Design Association’s  “Decade of Design Competition 1994 – 2004,” one of the decade’s top ten projects.

Adams was instrumental in designing the $150 million Whitehall Staten Island Ferry Terminal in Manhattan, coordinating the curtain wall system and the project’s cost-estimating effort. In Seattle, he has worked on a number of commercial projects including Brouwers Cafe in Fremont, Zum Fitness Club, and the Duvall Community Youth Center. He also has produced a number of luxury residential projects, creating compelling designs while still meeting cost and functionality goals.

After studying architecture and music at the University of Pennsylvania, John was awarded a master’s of architecture with high distinction from the University of Michigan.
