Luis Gabriel Vargas, Project Manager
Luis Gabriel Vargas brings to Stuart Silk Architects a considerable dose of creativity, passion, and experience with residential, recreational, commercial, industrial, and transit projects. He likes to promote and encourage higher standards of design with fresh and innovative ideas and has a personal commitment to creating linkages between human beings, art, and function.
Luis was a designer for the Picnic Point WWTF in Lynwood, WA, while working for Streeter and Associates Architects. This challenging project sought to double the plant’s performance yet create a brand new and architecturally friendly wastewater plant within an exclusive residential neighborhood, successfully hiding its industrial function from passer-bys. The plant will pioneer the use of new and green materials to optimize function, structure, and energy.
Luis began his career in Seattle after receiving a master’s degree in architecture and arts with an honorable mention from the Universidad Piloto de Colombia in his native city of Bogota. He has been a high-level soccer player since age six and is accumulating trophies with top regional teams. He also is an avid dancer and true to his Latin blood, prefers the salsa, cha-cha, bachata, and merengue. He spends time with his son Nox playing soccer and golf, riding bikes, and modifying their home together. As Nox says, “My dad is always fixing my casa . . . I like my house!”
