Stuart Silk, Principal
Since starting his own firm in 1981, Stuart has attracted local, regional, and national recognition for his innovative and high-quality designs. Testament to the strength of his work are the numerous awards the firm has received as well as the established reputation of his firm as one of Seattle premier architecture design studios.
Stuart is a graduate of the Yale School of Architecture, where he won several important awards and scholarships for excellence in design. In 1977, he moved to Seattle and worked for NBBJ and Ibsen Nelson. In those years, Stuart gained valuable experience on a variety of commercial projects including multi-family housing, offices, and healthcare facilities.
Stuart has a strong interest in education and led several architectural studios at the University of Washington. He has served on AIA design juries and lectured at the University of California, Berkeley. During the 1980s, Stuart received a fellowship to study in Rome from the Northwest Institute of Architecture and Urban Studies. He has a keen interest in community planning and was selected to consult with the Issaquah Highlands development for home designs in the Harrison Street and Grand Ridge neighborhoods. He is also on the list of consulting architects for the Seabrook development in Pacific Beach, WA.
