This expansive home offers sweeping views of the Olympic Mountains and the surrounding woods. To diminish the home’s perceived size each area was divided into a single-story pavilion linked through a central entry hall or other space. While the scale and design of each element is unique, they share materials including cedar shingles, stained wooded trellises, and stone. The tall entry, featuring exposed inverted roof beams, provides a central focal point for the architecture. The entry is the width of the house, permitting views through the home to the courtyard beyond. The living room, dining room, and library are on one side of the entry while the kitchen, family room, informal dining, and bedrooms are on the other. A large stone fireplace in the family room backs an outdoor fireplace serving a covered patio. The master bedroom suite offers maximum privacy with views of a garden and a narrow wooded ravine.
