This four-bedroom, Santa Barbara influenced stucco home is located in the Madison Park neighborhood of Seattle. Our goals were to build a multi-generational home that is durably built and timelessly designed. We are committed to the creation of a sustainable home that conserves energy, limits water usage, and is healthy to live in.
In meeting the requirements of those programs, this home highlights products and systems relating to all aspects of green building. The following is a list of just some of the home's many green features.
- Forest Stewardship Council(FSC®) certified beams and paneling
- Doors and cabinets composed of recycled content
- Stainless steel sill pans and integral flashing at all openings to protect structure and prevent water intrusion
- Engineered rain screen wall assembly inhibits moisture and mold growth
- 100-year tile roof
- Locally made materials include: cabinets, gypsum wall board, stone fireplace surrounds
- Hand deconstruction of original structure with 98% of material diverted from landfill
- Salvage and reuse of doors, cabinets, and other items from original structure
- Construction waste limited and separated for recycling
