stuart silk | principalStuart Silk, a graduate of the Yale School of Architecture, founded Stuart Silk Architects in 1981. Under Stuart's direction, the firm has received local, regional, and national recognition for its innovative and high-quality residential designs. The firm's projects have been displayed at museum and gallery exhibitions, received numerous awards, and been published in many national magazines. Projects have been commissioned in a number of states, Canada, and most recently Shanghai, China. Stuart has served on American Institute of Architects design juries and lectured at several universities. After graduating from Yale, Stuart moved from his home state of Connecticut to Seattle. During the 1980's, he received a fellowship to study in Rome from the Northwest Institute of Architecture and Urban Studies. Stuart has a long-standing interest in the arts and has served on the boards of the Henry Art Gallery, Pleschief Institute, CoCA, and Arcade. In his spare time, Stuart enjoys traveling with his wife Mary and takes fly-fishing sojourns. |
