Second Ave ResidenceSeattle, WA This home, originally built in 1900 on the south facing slope of Queen Anne, enjoys sweeping views of the Seattle skyline, the Space Needle and Mount Rainier. In an effort to reorganize the home in a logical and efficient sequence, we created a dramatic two-story, centrally located entry which capitalizes on the expansive views and allows all-day southern daylight to brighten the home. The new steel stair is memorable for its minimal detailed floating quality. The open floor plan with its ten foot tall ceilings has a loft-like feeling. The new kitchen is anchored by its twenty-four foot long white stone capped island. This home has received 3-Star Built Green certification from the Washington Built Green program. |
