Capitol Hill Renovation

Located in Seattle's historic north Capitol Hill neighborhood this large home had stately beginnings, but had suffered through years of neglect. A new two story addition was comprised of a new kitchen/family room and spacious master bedroom suite above. While the owners wanted to maintain its architectural integrity, they also wanted to introduce a contemporary sensibility, which was expressed in the design of many of the components including cabinets, plumbing fixtures, lighting and fireplace surrounds. This resulted in a fresh dialog between the old and the new while maintaining respect for the original structure.
