Laurelhurst Renovation

Seattle, WA

In order to meet the client's needs for two additional bedrooms and a bathroom for their growing family, we added a dormered attic level to this1920's Tudor-style shingled home. The new story is accessed by a circular turret stair that serves as a focal point over the front entry. The outdated kitchen was reconfigured to be more functional for both entertaining and family life. During the construction process, the entire house was structurally retrofitted for today's seismic and wind-loading code requirements and also received a 3-Star Built Green certification.. The home's new look recalls shingle-style and Richardsonian architecture. The home won the 2008 ASID/Southern Accents Residential Interior Design Contest, kitchen category.

This home was featured in Seattle Homes and Lifestyles November 2008 and Southern Accents Jan/Feb 2008.
