Useless Bay Beach HouseWhidbey Island, WA Located on a south facing beach this timelessly designed home takes in expansive views of Puget Sound as well as the Cascade and Olympic Mountains by incorporating banks of 10 foot-tall glass doors and tall windows. Additional light is introduced into the two-story great room by two long clerestory windows above the bottom cord of the trusses on the north and south sides. The ceiling of the great room is enriched by a tapestry of fir beams and paneling merging Northwest contemporary and traditional Japanese detailing.
