stuart silk architects selected for approved list and review committee for issaquah highlands

Stuart Silk Architects has been selected by Port Blakely Communities for the list of eight approved architects for two new Issaquah Highlands high-end home developments: Harrison Street and Grand Ridge Drive. Prospective buyers can choose to build a custom home using one of the approved architecture firms and home builders. Stuart Silk and Senior Associate Anne Adams also serve as advisors to the Architectural Review Committee, which sets architectural standards and guidelines for Harrison Street and Grand Ridge Drive and reviews all design applications. Stuart Silk Architects was selected for the architecture list because the firm was among the "best of the best" who understood the goal of creating timeless, traditional architecture within the neighborhood concept, according to Port Blakely managers. Harrison Street strives to recreate the elegance of the traditional Seattle neighborhoods of Madison Park, Laurelhurst, and Windemere. Harrison Street encourages an open neighborhood feel, where front-yard living spaces are required and the homes must be oriented to the site, nearby homes, and expansive views of the Seattle and Bellevue skylines and the Olympic Mountains. Most homes will be valued between $1.5 and 2.75 million. Stuart Silk Architects so far has been contracted to design two homes within the 18 available 2-acre lots. In contrast, Grand Ridge Drive's 2.5-acre lots are more rural and the architectural designs will have an estate feel within a pristine, forest setting. Stuart Silk Architects has been contracted to design at least one of the homes within this community. Project manager Adams says, "In these communities, every architect and builder is being held to extremely high standards in design, materials, and construction. It's exciting to be playing a key role in shaping these neighborhoods, as well as creating new homes with such a high level of quality and detail." Stuart Silk Architects Limited PS, located in Seattle for over 30 years, creates skillfully conceived, well-crafted, and innovative homes within traditional, transitional, and contemporary design categories.
